The World Atletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 26 include the mythical One Mile:
Where Champions win by the narrowest margins, and everyone else can run, jog, walk, or dance with the broadest smiles.
One Mile. The legendary distance. 1,609 kilometers that runners for centuries have competed to cover in the shortest time possible.
There's no time to warm up on the course. And no room for mistakes. Every step and every second counts. From the sound of the starting gun you must lean forward,
let your shoes bite into the asphalt and push yourself forward – again and again – until you reach the finish line.
Or, of course, you can take it really easy.
The One Mile is the perfect event to enjoy with your friends and family. No matter your pace this is a unique chance to follow in the foot steps of the world elite and experience the atmosphere at a real world championship.
So let yourself soak in the cheers from the spectators and feel the goosebumps as you move through this amazing running party.
And of course there are awesome medals for all at the finishing line – regardless of your finishing time, your age or the length of your legs.
In short: At the One Mile race you will get the prime conditions for a sub 4 minute mile – or for an epic walk in Copenhagen.
We can't wait to see you.
The One Mile race pulls runners down a packed Østerbrogade, past the massive power zone at Trianglen, before blasting up the final stretch past Parken. The V-shaped course offers an electrifying atmosphere, filled with crowd support and a true party vibe along the way.
